If approved, a GoFundMe campaign is created or connected with the family's permission, naming a verified beneficiary on GoFundMe.
The campaign is featured here
The approved campaign is featured on our website so friends, neighbors, and supporters can easily find it.
Donate Now redirects to GoFundMe
Every donation button sends visitors directly to the campaign page on GoFundMe. No donation is ever collected on this website.
GoFundMe handles payments
GoFundMe processes all contributions and sends funds to the verified beneficiary under its own terms, fees, and payout policies.
Eligibility
Who can submit a campaign request
Immediate family members
A spouse, parent, child, sibling, or next of kin arranging funeral, burial, cremation, or memorial services.
Extended family and friends
A relative or close friend organizing on behalf of a family, with that family's knowledge and consent.
Community organizers
A church, employer, coach, or community group raising support for a family they know personally.
Funeral-related expenses only
Requests should relate to funeral, burial, cremation, memorial, repatriation, or closely related end-of-life costs.
Before you submit
You are 18 or older and able to communicate with our team by email or phone.
The family is aware of the request and consents to a campaign being created.
You can identify a beneficiary who is able to complete GoFundMe's own verification.
The information you share is accurate and can be reasonably confirmed.
After Approval

We work with you on respectful campaign wording, a fundraising goal, and photos that honor your loved one.
The campaign goes live on GoFundMe
The campaign is created or connected on GoFundMe, where the beneficiary completes GoFundMe’s verification and payout setup.
It is featured on our website
Your campaign appears in our featured section with a link that sends supporters straight to GoFundMe.
You keep full control
Campaign updates, withdrawals, and communication with donors all stay with the beneficiary inside GoFundMe.

Is approval guaranteed?
No. Submitting a request does not guarantee approval, campaign creation, or any amount of funding.
Who receives the funds?
The beneficiary named on the GoFundMe campaign receives the funds directly from GoFundMe after completing GoFundMe's verification.
Are there fees?
GoFundMe and its payment processor apply their own fees and terms. The Final Steps charges nothing for reviewing or featuring a campaign.
What happens to funds raised beyond the goal?
Any amount raised above the goal is handled by the beneficiary under GoFundMe's terms. The Final Steps has no role in that decision.
Can a donation be refunded?
Refund requests are handled by GoFundMe under its refund policy. Please contact GoFundMe support directly.
Are donations tax-deductible?
Contributions should not be described as tax-deductible. The Final Steps is not represented as a registered nonprofit, and personal fundraising campaigns are generally not tax-deductible.

We only publish what you give us permission to publish. Supporting documents and contact details are used for review purposes and are not posted publicly.
